A Mal De Barquement Syndrome Testimonial
We were involved in a rear-end car collision and I received a whip lash injury. In November 2009 I had major surgery on my neck. My first and second vertebrae were fused together and a brace and screws attached. After healing from surgery I noticed I was always dizzy. It got worse over time. I had gotten so bad – life was worthless and not worth living it felt like I was sitting in a small boat in the middle of the ocean, rocking all the time. 24/7 every day. I was spending my life sitting in a chair & sleeping in a chair. There were many times I told my husband I wanted to die.
Also I was sent to “balance therapy” on three occasions, by my doctors for 2x a week for six weeks. It did not help. Had a bad fall, the doctor thought it was my carotid artery. Had tests for that, and nothing showed on the test.
Also went to a “wellness clinic” for one year. They said I was dizzy because of my liver. So I took their herbs & cleanses etc. every day for a year! No help at all!
I had gone to four medical doctors, two ENT’s and two neurologists, and two chiropractors. Every test known to man was done on me. I had a million x-rays, blood tests, several cat scans, MRI, hearing tests, even eye tests. I was always told, “there is nothing wrong”. I was a guinea pig and no help was ever offered.
One day in December 2016, my husband saw a post on Facebook describing my dizzy symptoms EXACTLY. That was what I told every doctor I visited and they all said they had never heard of that. Immediately I called Dr. Blom and went to see him in January 2017.
My life is totally different. One simple adjustment has changed how I feel. I no longer am rocking in a boat. I am no longer “constantly” dizzy, I can think more clearly! I had terrible pains in my right shoulder and could hardly use it. That is gone and I can now use my shoulder without pain! I just feel better in general. I found I am enjoying life more. Actually can visit and laugh and have enjoyable conversations with family and friends. I am driving now. Actually, life is much easier and more pleasant. I still have dizziness if I move my head to the sides too far or look above my head – Actually when I twist my neck too much. However Dr. Blom explained that is because of the screws in my neck. I can deal and adjust to that dizziness – but I feel so much more freedom since I am not rocking the boat 24/7.
I feel so much better!
Thank you, thank you Dr. Blom!
